The objectives include the creation of a seal of quality for products, a theme market for direct sales from producer to consumer and approval of tax incentives for maintaining agricultural activity.
The recovery plan, protection and conservation of the Garden and the Murcia River project already has a base document constitutes a roadmap to revitalize, maintain and care for the natural environment is an essential part of the identity of the municipality.
This action plan has been one of the main topics discussed today at the special meeting of the Social Council held in the City Council Chamber, chaired by the Mayor, José Ballesta, and attended by representatives of business organizations, trade unions , professional associations, universities, festive, cultural and social groups.
Thus begins a process of reflection as a basis for through participation and discussion, reach a stage of proposals and solutions aimed at the preservation and promotion of the values ​​of the Huerta, framed within the 2020 Strategy Murcia City.
The total scope reaches an area of ​​about 160 km2, which includes both the city and the districts and perimeter gardens.
The plan proposes ten goals:
- Coordination and promotion:
The Office de la Huerta act in the manner of a "single window" and will channel all initiatives, acting as a body for management and coordination from a holistic perspective.
- Participation:
Social participation, priority throughout the process, seek the involvement of neighborhood associations, irrigators, farmers meeting, CHS, social and cultural groups (Azacaya, Huerta Bizarra, Murcia cycling, Bicimur, Murcia Huerta Viva, etc.) , professional associations, universities, public administrations, etc.
- Training and awareness:
The plan includes the organization of educational activities, the creation of a school workshop activities aimed at restoring historical, agricultural and environmental heritage and organizing a Week of the Garden, designed with the aim of boosting this natural environment.
- Socio-economic development:

The route will pass through spaces with elements of culture, heritage, hydraulic, ethnographic and landscape interest that will be marked and put in value, making the River Segura in the main backbone of the territory of the Huerta.
The rehabilitation plan of the built heritage starts with the writing next year of technical projects for the recovery of the mill and the mill Love Funes, in the Albatalía;
Falcon Tower in Espinardo;
Molino del Batan, in the Way of Monteagudo;
Mill and Armero in Cabezo de Torres, among others.
This performance is complemented by the adoption of incentives and assistance to the rehabilitation of private assets, matching spaces of environmental interest (palm Zaraíche and Churra Castellar), the creation of the Center for Interpretation and approval Contraparada special protection plans and internal reform of the boardwalk and the Historic Site of Monteagudo.
- Regional integration, mobility and accessibility:
It includes the development of a mobility plan and recovery paths of Huerta, making them compatible with pedestrians, cycle path and speed limits for vehicle traffic.
- Innovation, sustainability and new technologies:
Especially in two areas: the call for a competition of ideas for the development and efficient use of water, new farming techniques, waste, etc .;

- Promotion, Tourism and leisure:
