The Department of Social Rights finances every year 16,425 overnight stays in the center of Jesus Forsaken and distribution of many other dining and dinner services.
"Jesus Forsaken is the cornerstone of solidarity and social commitment in the municipality", stressed today the Mayor, José Ballesta, in the implementation of a day center of the board, an organization "absolutely necessary to build a society best".
In the presence of Bishop José Manuel Lorca, and the president of the foundation, José Fernández, and the Councillor for Social, Conchita Ruiz, the Minister of Family and Equal Opportunities, Thomas Violante, and school management The Mayor stressed "the commendable work of the organization for the welfare of those who need more attention because they support real situations of risk of social exclusion."
Precisely because of the importance of this work, and drawing on the assistance of professionals and volunteers, José Ballesta has announced the commitment of the City of Murcia with maintaining or even increasing social programs.
In this regard, he secured the contract extension with Jesus Forsaken Foundation, which, with a budget of 466,000 euros, allows each year the overnight of 16,425 people in the Reception Centre for Persons Bystanders and homeless, and 45 services lunch and dinner daily in an amount of € 439,370.8.
To these figures must be added the places financed by contributions from other public administrations or equity of the board.
The day center has opened its doors it provides space to go to people who do not have another room to be addressed by offering the possibility of carrying out different activities with social workers and educators.
