The City of Murcia, through the Department of Youth and Development Cooperation, who heads Rebeca Perez participated in a meeting in Stockholm with 10 young Murcia, between 16 and 26 years, on European citizenship and participation in politics intervene Local.

The meeting, to be held in Stockholm from 29 October to 1 November, will focus on issues such as gender equality and the fight against racism and the presentation of good practices of small associations and youth groups.

At the same time, "it promotes and encourages the active participation of young people in international mobility programs as a tool for training and personal development to enable them to understand their role as active European citizens", explained Perez.
"The members of the Murcia group representing various organizations and projects of the municipality of Murcia, chosen for their involvement in social activities, participation, and international integration," stated Rebeca Perez.
Involved two young per project and organization that have been chosen by organizations: ONCE (Spanish Blind Organization) Columbares Association (Project Quarter Rosales) Youth Guarantee Program of the City of Murcia, Network ESN (Erasmus Student Association of the University of Murcia) and AIEMUM (International Association of Students of Medicine).
The "Your Europe" is coordinated by Sverigesungdomsrad, a national organization based in Stockholm, which began in 2003 and has been working to promote democratic rights and active citizenship among young people since.
The main focus of the organization is in education, training and development of personal and social skills.
In addition this meeting will take place in parallel with one of the biggest annual events bringing together over 400 young people from all over Sweden.
Participants in "The EU and You" share some sessions with them and also have the opportunity to interact with these young people.
Murcia delegation will be received at City Hall in Stockholm, along with the delegations of Turkey and Denmark.
