The neighboring district of San Andrés Murcia held this afternoon a plantation of roses and plants in the garden Mariano Montesinos, in the 'Family Park' initiative, organized by the City of Murcia, through the Department of Modernization Administration, Urban Quality and Participation, and the Federation of Neighborhood Associations in the Municipality.
The celebration of this family event brought together people of all ages, from children to grandparents, this large green area in the center of Murcia, which has 5,400 square meters, and hosts conferences and celebrations of local coexistence.
"We want the Murcia enjoy family of more than 3,000 green areas of the city, enjoy them and make them their own, as they are public spaces that belong to us all," said Councilman Jose Guillen, who was accompanied by the President of the Federation of Neighborhood Associations, José Luis Marco.
In this sense, the mayor explained that "in addition, through this initiative, in which the residents themselves involved in the care of the park by planting new species, it is possible to enhance the involvement of all the care and respect of our parks and gardens ".
Specifically, residents have carried out the planting of a total of 150 rose bushes and 150 plants crespinillo that embellish and give a new life to this garden, which has two playgrounds, two dozen banks and up to 90 trees .
Daily interaction with neighbors
After holding the 'Family Park', the Parks and Gardens held on care and maintenance of this public space, also responding to incidents that may occur to resolve them immediately.
"There is a daily interaction with citizens and, as soon as it has knowledge of an incident, the Parks and Gardens goes to work immediately to resolve it as soon as possible, responding to requests from the residents of the various neighborhoods and districts, "said Councilman Jose Guillen.
Commitment to green areas
Murcia has nearly 3,000 parks, more than 100,000 trees and palm trees, 700,000 square meters of lawn (equivalent to 70 football fields), 117 fountains and lakes, and a total of 10,000 banks.
In addition, the city has about 3,000 items of playground equipment and more than 400 new elements gerontogimnasia intended for the elderly.
