The Metropolitan Area of ​​Barcelona has today taken over from Murcia in front of the Network of Cities for the Bicycle, after being elected to chair the organization in a meeting held this morning in the city, whose inauguration was performed by Mayor Jose Ballesta.
The association, created in 2009, has among its objectives facilitate, and develop safer movement of cyclists, particularly in urban areas.
Currently it has nearly 70 partners, representing more than 150 Spanish cities.
Murcia has headed the network since 2011, now concluding its mandate under four years.
From now on it will take a vice-chairmanship, along with Alcobendas, Alicante and Valladolid.
