A plaque in the vicinity of the Cathedral recognize the figure of Jaime Bort, author of the facade of the Plaza de Belluga, which is one of the great exponents of Spanish Baroque.
Those responsible for the cultural association that bears his name, headed by Juan Garcia Sandoval, have held this morning a meeting with the Mayor, José Ballesta, who has shown his support for this initiative which it seeks honor and recognize who is responsible one of the treasures that are part of the historical heritage of the city.
In addition to the facade of the cathedral, Jaime Bort is project manager of the Plaza del Marqués de Camacho, the culmination of the Old Bridge, the altarpiece of the Church of Mercy or intervention on the facade of the Sanctuary of the Fuensanta, working the central niche with the image of the Virgin flanked by San Patricio and San Fulgencio.
Besides the totem next to the Cathedral, the City will also consider the possibility of giving the name of Jaime Bort of a significant municipal building, as homage to the renowned architect.
