The spokesman of the Socialist Municipal Group in the city of Murcia, José Ignacio Gras, accompanied by the deputy spokesman, Begoña García Retegui, held Wednesday a working meeting with the Associate Executive Council of the Union of Cooperatives Working Region Murcia (Ucomur), chaired by Juan Antonio Pedroza.
At this meeting, the Socialist spokesman pointed out that employment is a fundamental pillar of the socialist program and has defended the need for governments to work together with organizations and associations in support of businessmen and entrepreneurs.
"It is possible that a municipality like Murcia, which says it is interested in creating jobs, does not have a stable relationship and connection with an organization like Ucomur, that so far this year has contributed to the creation of 50 new cooperatives, resulting in more than 800 jobs for the town, "said Socialist spokesman.
Gras has stressed the need to create channels of communication and collaboration with these organizations to "join with each other and promote job creation," and recalled that in the past there was an agreement with the Union of Cooperatives left is applied in 2012 and should be recovered.
In the workshop it has shown that only in the city of Murcia has launched 111 projects related to cooperatives, with 42 new cooperatives and created more than 800 jobs.
"The City of Murcia should establish a direct relationship with this organization and with others that make possible the creation of jobs in our town, which help and advice to new business owners and entrepreneurs," stated Gras.
"The council must include social clauses in the specifications of the competitions for hiring companies and suggest that coordination between the Council and Ucomur allow this organization on behalf of the consistory advise those who want to create companies in our municipality."
The Socialist Party spokesman regretted that Ucomur is not present in the Social Council of the city of Murcia and in the Bureau of Labor and Economic Development and Employment is committed to the board of the Union of Cooperatives to demand so.
"It is incomprehensible that the organization that has most influenced the creation of jobs in our town in the past six months is not part of this and other workshops related to employment. The PSOE will continue demanding that this organization is present in those bodies, "he said.
For his part, President of Ucomur, Juan Antonio Pedroza, thanked the interest of the PSOE promote, disseminate and value the work of cooperatives in the municipality of Murcia and shared the views of the Socialist spokesman in their presence Economic Promotion Bureau.
"With the level of job creation that cooperatives have had in the city of Murcia in six months, is deemed reasonable to be at this table. We are the organization that is creating more jobs in the city," concluded Pedreño.
