The City of Murcia, through the Department of Planning, Environment and Huerta, has renewed the two viewpoints of Forest Park Municipal Majal Blanco, located in the Sierra de Carrascoy.
Specifically, the viewpoint of "The Quemao", oriented north to 424 meters above sea level, and the viewpoint of "El Cabezo Alto", oriented southwest to 603 meters, where the panels, which have also been renewed, give information of the Sierras and characteristic landscape landmarks of Murcia.
Space, according to the Councillor Navarro Corchón, "has an area of ​​892 hectares and houses important natural values, vegetation both regionally unique copies and fauna".
Between jobs, he has listed Corchón Navarro, are "the rehabilitation of the Hall of Nature or the adequacy of signaling 6 Short Distance Routes (PR's) existing, totaling over 35 kilometers, in collaboration with the Mountaineering Federation of Murcia ".
Thus, following this line of care and maintenance, the Department of Environment has recently undertaken various measures, among which the renovation of informative panels Majal Blanco.
These panels "are located in the Plaza de las Moreras and the Nature, where it provides information on the trails and its environmental values, being located at the highest points of Majal Blanco," said Navarro Corchón.
The work consisted in the renewal of graphics and incorporation of new drawings and photographs made by renowned mountaineer Murcia Angel Ortiz.
Also, they have also built stone benches in the two existing viewpoints to allow rest and enjoy the scenery.
Finally, the Councillor for the Environment, recalled that "since 1986, there have been numerous in this forest park maintenance, preservation and improvement of the natural environment and intense activity for environmental education and public use."
