A total of micro short-circuits from seven countries including Iran, Singapore, Canada and Mexico participate in the II International Festival of micro short-circuits, "To be or not to be" dedicated this year to the fight against cancer.
The festival was presented in the building of the Rector of the University of Murcia in a ceremony presided by the Vice President for Communication and Culture, Jose Antonio Gomez, who has enjoyed the presence of Ginés Navarro, director of the Festival;
Benito Rabal, President of the Jury;
Agustin Navarrete, President of the Provincial Board of the AECC Murcia;
Marta Lopez-Briones, Director General of the Institute of Cultural Industries and the Arts of the Region of Murcia;
Boix Manuel Molina, Director General of Public Health of the Region of Murcia, and Maruja Pelegrin, Councillor of Commerce, Organization and Institutional Relations of the City of Murcia.
Gines Navarro said at the presentation that the Festival of micro short-circuits "To be or not to be" is "an initiative that invites reflection on the cancer disease and its effects, as well as raising public awareness about the disease and cancer family and social "impact.
Agustin Navarrete, President of the Provincial Board of the AECC Murcia in the presentation referred to the fact that "cancer needs a lot of support for this disease is not as destructive in so many ways", and stressed the need to raise awareness in the prevention and research, as well as mitigate the solitude of many patients having the disease without company.
The rest of the participants, who also referred to the importance of prevention and investigation, thanked Benito Rabal and other popular names and faces involved with the festival for endorsing with their presence and popularity as important as this initiative.
Meanwhile, Benito Rabal, said all the actors and directors involved in helping and disclose this festival, were delighted to do so from the outset, and alluded to names like Imanol Uribe or Ginés García Millán, jurors, and actors Imanol Arias and Juan Echanove Terele Pávez.
The competing short films will be next Thursday, October 15, at the Regional Film Archive, and Saturday 17, at 20 pm and held the Gala "Impulse cancer", which will take place delivery awards for best film, best director and the best performer.
The gala is priced at 10 euros and the proceeds will go to the AECC.
