The Mayor, José Ballesta, met with two European experts on city strategy, planning and innovation, driving the "Roadmaps for energy" program.
The technical seminars are aimed at the development of a strategic plan to optimize energy consumption in municipal buildings and intelligent urban mobility.
Murcia hosts these days a meeting of the European project Roadmaps for energy, which together experts from different countries to discuss energy development in the cities of the EU are given.
The Mayor, José Ballesta, accompanied by the Councillor for Administration Modernisation, Urban Quality and Participation, Jose Guillen, held a meeting with two experts who have traveled to Murcia to impart the technical sessions.
Elke den Ouden and Rianne Valkenburg are specialists in energy planning and innovation strategies aimed at public and come from the Technical University of Eindhoven, known for his leadership "smart" city in Europe.
Along with Murcia, participating in the Roadmaps for energy other cities like Eindhoven (HolandaI), Istanbul (Turkey), Palermo and Forli (Italy) and Sant Cugat del Valles (Spain) European project.
Its aim is to design roadmaps to advance in two areas: smart buildings and smart mobility.
The aim is to optimize the municipal electricity bills, quantify the benefits of investment in energy renovation and maintenance of municipal buildings and establish procedures and standards for assessing urban mobility in relation to land use and urban planning long term city.
All this by implementing information technologies and communication, and urban management models capable of measuring performance indicators town.
"The results obtained from this project will complement and enrich the strategy of modernization of the administration we are developing and will allow the City Council to establish the broad lines of action of the municipal corporation," said the mayor, for whom workshops Murcia hosting these days will help to "realize the strategy of Murcia as municipal energy efficiency and public transport, progress in the development of viable city and well-planned action."
The main premise is to achieve an efficient management of the different areas of the municipality.
In this sense, José Ballesta said that "we are working to boost a city project developed together, with the active participation of neighbors and teamwork of the various councils.
The European project Roadmaps for Energy has the participation of a team of technicians from the departments of Administration Modernization, Development, Planning and Environment, and Traffic and Public Protection.
