The Socialists presented Thursday at the Municipal Council a motion seeking to multiply five heading contained in the State Budget 2016 par for the fight against gender violence in the region of Murcia
The councilor of the Municipal Socialist Group, Susana Hernandez will defend next Thursday in the Municipal Council a motion to urge the Government of Spain to adopt and promote a social, political and institutional Agreement Against Gender Violence.
Among the points contained in the motion that the PSOE presented, is the creation of the Coordination Unit against Gender Violence in each region, as well as sufficient funding in the budget allocations for social prevention and victim assistance GBV.
"In recent years the PP has been devoted to cut in the budget to prevent domestic violence and assist victims Susana Hernandez recalled. We demand that the State Budget for 2016 to multiply the resources allocated five the Delegation of Government to combat gender violence, understanding that what is currently budgeted totally inadequate and to cut back on these services is put at stake the lives of many women. "
The socialist mayor responsible for monitoring the areas of Social Rights, Education, Heritage and Parks and Gardens, prompted the creation of a fund to support municipalities to provide reinforcement to the utility grid, boosting the role of social services and centers of Women.
"The involvement of the City of Murcia in the fight against gender violence must be absolute. Faced with cuts in PP and apathy on the subject, Murcia session should be firm and be engaged in a struggle that is everyone."
The Municipal Socialist Group also apply for the establishment of specific intervention protocols for comprehensive care for women who have withdrawn the complaint of gender violence, and asked to permanently activate the National Plan for Awareness and Prevention of Gender Violence .
"There are many gaps in the service of prevention, care and protection related to gender violence. It is the responsibility of the national, regional and municipal governments to inform, assist and protect these women and make available facilities and services that allow them leave behind any kind of violence, "he stated the councilor.
Another measure proposed by the PSOE is to incorporate the curriculum specific training in Equality, affective-sexual and prevention of violence against women in all stages of education Education, and implement a comprehensive plan to prevent, protect and repair damage to child victims of domestic violence.
"We hope that all political groups to support this motion and we can take steps to make our town and our region are at the forefront in the fight against gender violence. Today PP cuts have left thousands of vulnerable women , lack of specialized staff who can guide them and lack of mechanisms for education and prevention.
