Two graduates of the University of Murcia Silicon Valley take a project to treat animals with stem cells (16/09/2015)

A business plan for the production of stem cell therapies to combat degenerative diseases in animals has won first prize for entrepreneurs Yuzz Program at the University of Murcia.

The innovative idea is the work of Jesus Isaiah Chinchilla Gil, a graduate of Veterinary Medicine, and Pedro Núñez del Castillo, a graduate in Business Administration, which, in collaboration with Professor of the University of Murcia Jesus Talavera, seeking to develop cell therapies to be used in animals, replacing conventional treatments and the side effects thereof.

The award Yuzz Program, which sponsors Banco Santander, entitles a trip to Silicon Valley in California (USA), the cradle of entrepreneurship, where winners held meetings with a view to internationalize and get funding for your project.

The awards and diplomas to participants took place today in the building of the Rector of the University of Murcia, who chaired the ceremony rector Transfer, Entrepreneurship and Employment, Francisca Thomas, who highlighted the quality of the 18 projects technology-based presented.

The Yuzz Program was created in 2009 to generate entrepreneurial culture among the university community.

The University of Murcia has a Yuzz Center at University Community Center, Campus Espinardo, where it advises and trains young people with entrepreneurial spirit, who are assisted in developing a business plan and the formation of a company technological base.
