The University of Murcia has signed an agreement with the association Astrada which the educational institution is a Chair of Autism and Pervasive Developmental Disorders.
The Chair will have as main objective research and dissemination in the field of autism and pervasive developmental disorders and mental retardation.
In this regard, the Chair will serve as a framework to improve scientific knowledge in the field and to raise public awareness about autism spectrum disorders.
In addition, since the Department's offer of studies necessary for the training of graduates and professionals will be promoted.
It also has plans to create educational materials for children and a library collection at the University of Murcia on autism and its treatments and therapies.
The rector, José Orihuela said during the signing ceremony, held in convalescence, this initiative is a further demonstration of the commitment of the University of Murcia with disability, as was endorsed with getting this year's award for Best Phone public sector organization on issues of inclusion.
