The Mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, today received the President of the Royal Spanish Swimming Federation, Fernando Carpena Pérez and President of the Swimming Federation of Murcia, Francisco Dominguez Padilla, on the occasion of the presentation of the VII Waterpolo Tournament Murcia.
The event, held on 12 and 13 September in Murcia municipal facilities Park, "will feature 420 athletes and coaches," as indicated by the Councillor for Sports and Health, Felipe Coello.
Coello, who has also been accompanied by several members of the Board and the Technical Waterpolo Club Murcia, stressed that "we must support this Club and its project to grow throughout the region and have adequate facilities."
"This year we will have participants from five autonomous regions (Andalusia, Castilla la Mancha, Madrid, Valencia and Murcia), a total of 42 teams divided into 7 categories which make our tournament," said the councilman.
All these teams belong to 10 clubs:

· Waterpolo Club Elche
· Turia Waterpolo Club
· Swimming Club Madrid Moscardó
· Swimming Club Boadilla
· College of Madrid Brains
· Club Waterpolo Madridejos
· Club Waterpolo San Javier
· City Club Cartagena Wateprolo Miralmonte

According to the Minister of Sports, "this tournament is being as a reference for the entire national scene and being respected by clubs from different federations quite old."
Thus, "many teams on the national scene, have shown their willingness to come to the tournament, being the starting gun for the sport of polo," said Coello.
Besides taking advantage of this event, the second edition Friday Waterpolo Tournament Master Murcia is realized, with four teams from three different clubs (Master swimming club Murcia, Murcia and Club Polo Club polo Elx).
"This completes a weekend plagued waterpolo for all ages" has completed Coello.
