Murcia City Council has declared to be uncompromising against those who pollute the river Segura.

"A Murcia has cost us a lot of work, time and money to get our river is in perfect condition and one hundred percent of its waters are purified and we will not allow anyone to finish this work," they have expressed the City Council .

The Mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, has been in contact this morning with the president of the Hydrographic Confederation of Segura, Miguel Angel Rodenas, to act in a coordinated manner to protect the River Segura and the quality of its waters.

To do this, it will resort to any means necessary, whether the opening of administrative proceedings or complaints of criminal proceedings for committing crimes against the environment.

Indeed, regarding the foam appeared in the Segura River this morning, it seems that stems from discharges of a company in Las Torres de Cotillas.

The City Council is considering filing a complaint to the prosecutor for environmental crimes.

For now, the City has already denounced this morning the situation before the Seprona so that those responsible pay.
