Murcia City Council bid to boost the networking of resources for social services that serve and give coverage to the most vulnerable groups in the municipality.
As stated by the councilman of Social Rights, Conchita Ruiz, during the visit he made this morning at RAIS Foundation facilities in Murcia and from which it has treated more than 600 people homeless.
In its dependencies, the mayor noted, "other services for homeless people further deterioration of the city, such as overnight, dining, personal hygiene, laundry, access to information (press, internet ...) are offered support in steps, mail service, reading area and health support, among others "
The collaboration between RAIS Foundation and the Social Services City includes the derivation from the Mobile Emergency Service and Social Care (SEMAS) and Asylum Shop homeless.
Thus, recalled the Conejal of Social Rights, for whom the work done RAIS, adds that develop other entities such as Caritas, Jesus Forsaken, The Huertecica and CEPAIM, inter alia, "each pays specific attention and according to the needs of groups that are especially vulnerable in Murcia ".
Ruiz noted that "the City Council of Murcia, has been awarded a grant of 20,000 euros to the Foundation for services aimed at the homeless, such as overnight, dining room, laundry, etc".
"RAIS Foundation has a center night low demand, which houses homeless people who for various reasons can not access other network resources and where food and accommodation is offered," said Ruiz, who said Also that "during the first six of this year, these facilities have treated 84 people (71 men and the rest women)".

Social support

Finally, Ruiz said that "52.5 percent of people served by RAIS Foundation in the first half of the year are Spanish, while 47.5 percent are from other countries."
RAIS Foundation is a social initiative, non-profit, independent and pluralistic state level created in 1998. It works actively in six regions and its main objective is to combat social exclusion and to respond to the needs of others disadvantaged, especially the homeless.
They are present in Murcia since 2005.
