Terra Natura Murcia has exceeded the half million visitors since its inauguration in April 2007. The park has progressively increased its influx reaching over 240,000 visitors a year, a figure reached in 2014.

In the first seven months of 2015, more than 150,000 people visited the zoo as much as the water park, so the upward trend is maintained and predicted that this year the figures from previous years will be overcome.

"These data place us, no doubt, as one of the main tourist and leisure facilities in the Region of Murcia" said Gustavo Martinez, manager of Terra Natura, who stressed that "the best indicator that are being good things is to check that the influx is growing every year. "

At this time the park has invested more than EUR 24 million for maintenance and improvement of the facilities, which have consolidated Terra Natura Murcia as reference space for both Murcia and tourists.

In fact, 30% of people who have been in Terra Natura since its opening come from European countries highlighting, above the rest, British, German and Scandinavian.

In the remaining 70% is dominated by visitors from the region and neighboring provinces such as Albacete, Almeria and Alicante.

Among the milestones achieved during the last twelve months is the incorporation of new species of animals, some in serious risk of extinction such as the leopard, colobus monkey guenon or;

creating new entertainment elements;

agreements with groups and organizations;

or commitment to develop increasingly research projects, conservation and environmental education.
