The Department of Commerce, Organization and Institutional Relations, has created more than one hundred new jobs thanks to the award of 91 new licenses for hawking in weekly markets and 12 licenses for the exercise of municipal spaces for sale in Abastos.
In 2014 984 licenses were granted peddling in 53 weekly markets, to which must be added the 91 new licenses were awarded in this year 2015, making a total of 1,075 licenses.
The city of Murcia has 53 markets, which take place from Monday to Sunday in the town and villages.
The most important, being the largest, is the fame, which has 850 licenses and is held on Thursdays.
The Santa María de Gracia has 350 licenses and takes place the same day.
In districts, the largest is El Palmar, which has 240 seats.
In the eight spaces they exist today Abastos 317 holders.
The councilman of Commerce, Organization and Institutional Relations, Maruja Pelegrin, explained that "the award has been made by a clear, simple, transparent and subject to a competitive process that is able to present all persons who meet the requirements and which he selected the previously submitted applications ".
