Now Murcia describes as "mortal" McDonald Roundabout Espinardo (27/07/2015)

Other sections have similar security measures as soundtracks and traffic signs illuminated by LED

NOW MURCIA today denounced the highly dangerous, maintained over time and recently upgraded, known as the 'Rotunda McDonalds Espinardo'.

The municipal formation has made a request at City Hall in addition to the one made almost three months ago by the Neighborhood Association of Granada Path West and reflects the many accidents occurred at this point, the last of them on 22 July.

Security features such as soundtracks and traffic signs lit by LED, that have similar sections in the city, would help reduce accidents.

The place to which we refer is the avenue Doctor Pedro Guillen after the incorporation of the motorway (exit 140B), and the roundabout at the intersection of this avenue with Mariano Rojas.

This stretch of road and the roundabout lack of security measures, as shown by the facts, demand, seriously endangering steadily vehicles and numerous pedestrians to cross this road daily.

For this reason, NOW MURCIA has asked the Department of Traffic to investigate this situation and take appropriate measures to put an end to this grave danger measures.

The traffic on this stretch is very dense because it is an important gateway to the city of Murcia and Espinardo from the highway, and has been increased with the opening of a fast food restaurant.

The residents of the Path of Granada, meanwhile, frequently cross this road to El Ranero and other areas of Murcia, and displacement has increased from a year ago with the opening of a supermarket.

The area described improvements have not received even though the City Council has allocated more than 169,000 euros in five points of the municipality to improve road safety, some of them very close to this roundabout, and over 60 thousand euros in two roundabouts the north of the city.

In this section there are two pedestrian crossings that are not visible enough to the vehicle, to which must be added that the road layout (incorporating exit 140B and lowering the bridge) 'encourages' vehicles to circulate over the speed limit and not reduce it to near pedestrian crossings.

Moreover, NOW MURCIA made a request to the Department of Traffic, on 21 July, asking that measures be taken regarding the excessive speed with which many vehicles travel on the Path of Granada West in the section from the Mariano Rojas Avenue to tunnel under the A-30.

The speed limit is 20 km / h, and its breach endangers pedestrians and cyclists.
