The Mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, continues its firm commitment to carry out the plan of protection and enhancement of the garden to make it a cultural reference.

The Board of Governors approved two contracts to provide content interpretation center of Huerta in Contraparada, announced by the Mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, just under a week ago.
The first will be dedicated to raising awareness and environmental information to the public and will cover the following environmental awareness activities for schools and associations, both have a specific offer to bring the value of nature to everyday life.
For its implementation over the next two years, the Board of Governors approved this week the specifications for procurement, with a maximum price of 430.000 euros.
Activities for the population
Activities aimed at all ages considered from voluntary environmental programs, carried out cleaning and conditioning of forest parks or special planting and wildlife censuses, etc., until nature seminars in the classroom Majal Blanco weekends or guided monitors the paths of small tour itineraries.
It has also made available to the public an environmental information in the Municipal Forest Park Majal Blanco and in the place of the Contraraparada, and an information booth for the exhibition of activities offered by the Department of Environment, will be held maintaining and updating the website and content design for the center Contraparada.
Activities for students
Regarding the proposals for school, include seminars, guided tours, exhibitions, school gardens, botanical gardens and green schools, which are part of the program of activities developed by the City Council with the intention of increasing the information and environmental awareness of Murcia .
The traveling exhibition "Murcia, a city ecology," describing him municipality from an environmental point of view, educational activities, nature's classroom "El Majal Blanco" and quarries Valley or green schools programs , botanical gardens and school gardens are other activities for schoolchildren.
The contractor will prepare a project with content, media design and elements of ambiance to locate on the Interpretation Center of Huerta in the place of the Contraparada.
The contents contemplate at least the following areas of the Huerta de Murcia: biodiversity, landscape, irrigation network, ethnographic and cultural elements, etc.
