The University of Murcia held today in the building LAIB (Laboratory for Biomedical Research) Campus Health Sciences, the act of receiving a scientific equipment for flow cytometry, which has given the Esteban Romero Foundation.
Flow cytometry is a biophysical technology that allows the diagnosis and monitoring of diseases such as leukemia or AIDS granulomatosis, through a process that enables the simultaneous measurement of multiple physical characteristics of a single cell.
In addition, the team has other important uses in basic, practical research and clinical trials.
The rector of the University, José Orihuela, highlighted the incorporation of this equipment, "which will be an important support for biomedical research in the Region of Murcia."
Also during the ceremony, in which the specialist Jordi Petriz flow cytometry has offered a conference, presented the Service of Research Support "Esteban Romero", which is also located in the building LAIB.
The event has been attended by various members of the governing team, representatives of the Romero family and other guests.
Esteban Romero Foundation has been financing training aid abroad for researchers at the University since 1976.
