The Mayor, José Ballesta, today stressed the solidarity and selfless work done in Bando Food Segura in Murcia, which last year collected 1.2 million kilos of food, which reached more than 35,000 families.

Ballesta, who this morning met with the president of the organization, Bonifacio Fernandez, in the presence of the Councillor for Social, Conchita Ruiz, has expressed its intention to strengthen the relationship between both parties to be more effective in the fight against poverty and to ensure that "no persons in Murcia to starve."

The City Council allocated 290,000 euros to direct financial support to families of power, ensuring coverage of the entire city and all age groups.
