The University of Murcia today unveiled its range of open and massive online courses (Mooc), which is composed of twenty of them, during a ceremony that has developed in the building of convalescence, home of the Chancellor.
During the ceremony, the Vice Chancellor for Education and Innovation, Pedro Miralles, explained that this educational institution committed to innovation in new technologies and enhance the blended learning.
Miralles has commented that this effort is demonstrated by the score of courses now offered, compared to the four that were organized in the first edition in 2012-2013.
The Vice Chancellor for Coordination and Internationalisation, Bernardo Cascales has said walking toward online education and this can contribute to a greater openness to foreign students.
Cascales has indicated that this teaching is essential to have a higher visibility and can serve as a showcase for the offer of degrees and master's degrees taught at the University of Murcia.
The Vice Chancellor has indicated that this offer open courses and mass will be held through the "Miriada-X" platform, in which they participate, along with the University of Murcia, Telefonica and Banco Santander, the latter through the Universia network , which brings together more than 1,200 universities in 33 countries.
The director of the Department of Administrative Law, Julien Valero, said that one of the courses offered by the institution once numbered more than two thousand students.
Finally, the rector, Jose Orihuela, expressed his gratitude to all who are involved in these studies and added that it is a supplement that can be an important lever.
The ceremony was also attended by the vice-chancellors of Communication and Culture, José Antonio Gómez, and Students, Quality and Equality, Miguel Angel Perez.
