The humanized birth the woman produces a higher degree of satisfaction that the biomedical birth, as stated in the conclusions of the doctoral thesis at the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Murcia Maria Belen Conesa Ferrer.
The findings indicate that obstetric outcomes and satisfaction are higher both in labor and in the immediate postpartum period.
The beneficial results are the consequence of contact between mother and newborn, the support of his partner and the physical environment, adds this research, which has been rated as outstanding cum laude.
For the realization of the thesis, the author analyzed an integrated 204 women who had given birth at two hospitals in Spain by the biomedical model and 202 who had done by the humanized sample.
The study was led by researchers at the University of Murcia Manuel Canteras Jordana and Maria Emilia Martinez Roche.
