The beach volleyball court sports Joseph Barnes called Beatriz Rodriguez Llopis today in memory of the great athlete Murcia was in charge of the Volleyball Federation of the Region of Murcia for 22 years.
The ceremony was attended by the Councillor for Sports and Tourism functions, Miguel Cascales;
President of the Royal Spanish Volleyball Federation, Agustin Martin and the President of the Volleyball Federation of the Region of Murcia, José Valera.
The beach volleyball court is in operation since 2008 and has hosted the championships in Spain Beach Volleyball 2008 and 2010. Today it is managed by the Club Volleyball Murcia and has a volleyball school attended by 100 students.
Sports activities are also carried out with schools in the municipality.
Beatriz Rodriguez Llopis was the first woman who chaired a sports federation in the region of Murcia.
Outstanding player and coach, died on May 26, 2009 at age 43.
