The 55th Session of the International Olympic Academy has had the participation of two students of the Catholic University of Murcia.
Lourdes Bonache Meroño and Adrian were selected to be the Spanish representatives at this meeting which is held every year in Olympia (Greece).
In this event the Olympic academies more than a hundred countries around the world are concentrated over two weeks in order to share the history, principles and values ​​of the Olympic movement.
The stay started with a visit to Panathinaiko Stadium, scene of the athletics competitions of the 2004 Summer Olympics;
and also to the Acropolis, one of the great treasures of Greek heritage.
The climax came with the opening ceremony held at Mount Pnyx, a loaded symbolism and with an even more special meaning for the Spanish Olympic Academy, receiving the Award Athina.
Its president, Conrado Durántez received this distinction and made them participants in this important and memorable time students UCAM.
