Mayor House awards prizes for school competitions held by the City Council to commemorate this date.
Participants have been awarded in the Green Schools program and school gardens and poster competitions, with as slogan-light pollution.
The celebration of the World Environment Day has had starring, once again, to school in the municipality.
They most awareness activities and environmental education promoted by the City Council directs, and their involvement in the programs is compensated by summoning various competitions and contests.
Today was the day specified for delivery of the awards in a ceremony held at the Plenary Hall has been attended by the Mayor, Miguel Angel House, and those responsible for Environment, Education and Cuñtura, Maria del Carmen Pelegrin Lola Sanchez and Rafael Gómez, respectively.
The prizes have been awarded for the Green Schools Program, School Gardens program and poster contest for schoolchildren, all promoted by the Environmental Education Program of the Department of Environment.
1) .- GREEN SCHOOLS PROGRAM
CEIP CEIP Arboleja and Murcia City have received the awards "Green Schools", which this year celebrates its 14th edition and in which 49,000 students from 58 schools participating.
This program aims to develop habits that help students better understand the concepts related to environmental education: responsible consumption, waste, alternative energy, etc.
It distinguishes the call centers that meet the highest number of environmental commitments and approve their audit scheme.
The City Council each year invites schools to participate in this activity, to assess whether the management of material resources is done in accordance with sustainability criteria.
2) .- GARDENS SCHOOL PROGRAM
32 schools participate in the school gardens Ecological Network of the Municipality of Murcia (RHEMU), with which the City Council wants to show students and teachers all aspects that affect the operation of an orchard, from selection and seed germination , to harvest the fruits, as well as establish relationships between major environmental problems and operation of school gardens.
CEIP Holy Angel has won the award for the second -otorgado consistent year-on material for the school garden and a lot of books.
3) .- XIX POSTER COMPETITION FOR SCHOOL
The competition this year has revolved around "Light pollution" and have participated 56 students of 4 schools.
The call distinguishes between five categories and three prizes are awarded for each:
