The Chamber of Arts at the University of Murcia hosts the 18th and May 19th International Congress "Don Quixote in Ricote: Cervantes, Islam and the Moors" in the Festival of Three Cultures Murcia.
Held to commemorate the fourth centenary of the publication of the second part of Don Quixote, the Congress will approach the presence and significance of Moorish and Islamic references in Cervantes' work.
The conference, to be inaugurated on Monday, at 10:00 hours, the rector of the University of Murcia, José Orihuela, also pose a meeting between the educational institution and the University of Puerto Rico in Rio Piedras, plus a tribute the international school moriscología Hispanists formed between the city of San Juan.
The conference is organized by the Center for Intercultural Studies al-Riquiti, Wheels Visual Ethnography Institute and the University of Murcia.
