Murcia, May 14, 2015.
The rector of the University of Murcia, José Orihuela, and the CEO of Banco Santander and Santander Universities global director, José Antonio Villasante, has presented today the awards to the winning students of the first contest Ingenio Santander.
With an endowment of 10,000 euros in prizes, the contest is an initiative of the Vice President for Coordination and Internationalisation and Banco Santander, through Santander Universities, for providing financial assistance to students of the University of Murcia to participate during the course 2015-2016 a mobility program managed by the Department of International Relations of the educational institution.
The first prize, worth 3,000 euros, went to Marcelo Vera Orenes;
the second, with 2,500 euros for Jorge Tobarra of the Ox, and the third with 2,000, José Vicente Juan Manzano, while the fourth and fifth, with 1,500 euros and 1,000 euros, have been respectively for Paula Cano Alburquerque and Alejandro Martinez Gayo.
The competition tests, which took place on 24 April consisted in solving various problems and games.
During this event, which took place at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Campus de Espinardo, 726 students with mobility grants for next year (Erasmus -of which Banco Santander is copatrocinador- and ISEP with the United States) received their Hand credentials rector and José Antonio Villasante, who participated as a sponsor of the promotion.
José Orihuela and José Antonio Villasante have also signed an agreement that reinforces the Bank's support to the activities of the Centenary of the University and the organization of a conference related to the scholarship programs of international mobility Banco Santander.
The event held today was part of the activities commemorating the 25th anniversary of International Relations at the University of Murcia.
Banco Santander, through Santander Universities supports since 1997 the university in the development of different initiatives.
The bank works with more than 1,200 universities and research centers worldwide.
