MURCIA NOW considers essential a change of energy model that proposes to implement through a series of measures subject to the requirements of being economically viable and easy to fit in a short period of time.
These measures will also serve for citizens to become familiar with the responsible and sustainable energy behaviors.
The aim is to achieve a sustainable energy model and more socially just, in which citizens have a democratic access to energy, which will be generated in a much greater proportion from renewable sources;
The objective, in this sense, is to hire the municipal electricity guaranteed 100% renewable source.
In this way, NOW MURCIA proposes the development of a municipal plan to promote renewable energy and energy saving measures for establishing tax incentives.
Some of the actions of this plan would be supporting renewable energy cooperatives, with participation of the City;
the obligation to introduce bioclimatic in new construction, and facilitate their implementation;
promoting the installation of solar thermal and biomass boilers in buildings, schools and neighborhoods, and promote the installation of photovoltaic solar panels on the roofs of buildings and parking lots.
One of the first measures in this area MURCIA NOW will perform an energy audit of the municipality, to detect and correct any areas for improvement from a viewpoint of efficiency, environmental impact and cost.
NOW MURCIA has the strong belief that we should act locally but thinking globally.
Therefore, it is committed to combating climate change through measures such as the policy of 'zero emissions'.
The application also includes the development of awareness campaigns, training and promoting energy culture in all areas of the city (citizenship, commerce, industry, primary) through public events, workshops, seminars, courses and conferences.
Now look for the legislature MURCIA greater autonomy of the municipality in the production and distribution of electricity, laying the foundations for a full municipalization medium term.
Also, it is declared a free Municipality of Murcia Fracking (technique for extracting gas and oil from the ground).
