The University of Murcia presented today at the building of convalescence I Week Agroecology and Food Sovereignty, which will be held until May 14 varied gastronomic activities, environmental, cultural and leisure type.
In addition to lectures, panel discussions and video sessions on agro-ecology, urban agriculture and food sovereignty, the promoter of the initiative, Professor of Biology at the University of Murcia José María Egea, he has listed the actions to be taken, noting that 38 restaurants will offer this week tapas made with organic products in order to promote their consumption.
Other planned activities include meeting with huertanos or conference aimed at schools, in which 400 students participate in different orchards guided by the University of Murcia views.
Similarly, with these actions, it has scheduled a market for organic products, routes to discover the Murcia traditional agricultural landscape, tasting sessions and a live cooking as well as workshops on the conservation of agricultural biodiversity, peasant culture and responsible consumption.
In the presentation, who have led the rector of the University, José Orihuela, and the Vice Chancellor for Infrastructure and Sustainability, José María Abellán, the keys of the new plots of organic gardens that have been enabled on the campus were also awarded Espinardo.
The Week is organized by the University through the Sustainable Campus program, in collaboration with the Murcia Association of Confectioners and Chefs and the Cultural Association of Chefs and Cooks Region and sponsored by the Council of Agriculture Ecological and ZagalEco Food Ecological.
