On Wednesday, May 6, it will proceed to the reading of the Manifesto of the XXIII Conference of Deans of Arts.
It will be at 12.00 on the Campus of La Merced (on the stairs in front of the Lecture) and will be attended by the Deans of Arts, Philosophy and Fine Arts.
It is a joint reading will take place in all faculties of Spain.
The manifesto was agreed at the Conference of Deans of letters held in Salamanca last March, and in it his decision to unanimously express "the strongest terms our concern at the deterioration of public universities in teaching, research is expressed and management and our firm commitment to fight to defend the role that the teaching of the humanities has on society and at the present time ".
The manifesto expresses the rejection of tending "outsourcing and privatization of management" in the public university and demand the equalization of "education budgets and research than the average for the European Union".
Among the claims includes adequate generational change among teachers "policies against cuts in recent years," and the application for suspension of Royal Decree 43/2015 which structures university education in three-year degree and two master's degrees because, as specified, the reasons underlying the law "are false and represent, once again, an attack on public higher education."
Deans added that the Royal Decree "did not take into account the views of the university community as a whole and expensive studies, in breach of equal opportunities".
The manifesto laments the excessive interventionism at the University of the Autonomous Communities and the Government of the nation, "reprising the genuine meaning of university autonomy" expressed in the Spanish Constitution and calls for a "commitment to dialogue and willingness to reach consensus among all Spanish players in the university system. "
