The positive effect of the appreciation for its work in voluntary activities carried out by people over 60 years has been shown by a doctoral thesis at the Faculty of Social Work at the University of Murcia by Elvira Medina Ruiz.
For the study, which has been rated as outstanding cum laude, the author analyzed a sample composed of 172 volunteers who had reached that age.
The thesis states that the results have demonstrated the positive effect on the intended permanence of volunteers produces satisfaction with management mechanisms.
He adds that it can also highlight the role played by the degree of preparation and supervision in meeting the tasks, along with incidence of the motivation of volunteers.
This research was led by Professor of the University of Murcia Manuel Medina Tornero.
