The Tourist Office of Belluga and the Tourist Information Romea have experienced a dramatic increase in tourists during Easter and Spring Festival.
Specifically, visits increased by 36.23% during these two weeks, from 16,493 tourists in 2014 to 22,470 visitors this year.
As for the busiest days of tourists, Good Friday has grown 346.4% compared to 2014, from 625 consultations last year to 2,790 visits this year.
On the Burial of the Sardine an increase of 81% in the number of tourists was recorded;
Holy Wednesday one visits 77.72% over the same day in 2014;
Domingo de Ramos tourists 68.80% over the previous year;
Monday before Bando de la Huerta, 65% more visitors than in 2014 and Holy Thursday one visitor 42.53% more than last year.
During Easter hotel occupancy was 80.50%, an 7.43% more than last year, with an average increase in the price of hotel night of 9.14% compared to 2014. At Easter there have been 14,560 overnight stays, 10% more than the previous year, generating an economic impact on the city of 1.75 million euros.
The Councillor for Tourism, Miguel Cascales, said that once again the data provided by the Tourist Offices demonstrate the dramatic increase in the number of visitors who are experiencing Murcia result of tourism activities being carried out within the Murcia Tourism Promotion Plan 365.
Cascales recalled that the week 23 to 27 March was held in Murcia Television Festival, FesTVal, it has generated in the municipality an impact of 5.4 million euros.
During the five days of Murcia hosted the festival one hotel occupancy 70.25%, 6.25% increase over the same week last year was recorded.
Also, the price per room / night 5% compared to 2014 increased.
