Ruben Juan Serna, candidate for mayor of the city of Murcia and spokesman for Progress and Democracy Union, says "we want to discuss what model of Murcia city project and what we each candidate" presented at the next election of May 24.
So Serna encourages the other chief candidates for municipal elections to participate "in one or even several public debates" in order "that residents can participate and ask all those questions that are of interest to the municipality.
"We want to discuss specific ideas, transportation, economy, citizen participation, things that directly affect daily fashion and concern to the neighbors."
Murcia UPyD spokesman says that public debates "are a basic tool of transparency and political participation to contrast the different proposals of candidates".
Serna believes that such acts ahead of the municipal elections should include both those who are represented in the Consistory at the moment "as other formations that occur but have no presence in the City."
In that sense, the candidate of UPyD calls "civil society, associations, media and other parties to organize the largest possible number of debates".
