Councilman IU-Greens in Murcia, José Ignacio Tornel, has submitted a request to the next full council for the City Council dowry of a stable headquarters to the Choir "Fernández Caballero," a choir that was born in 1933 and whose performance quality has been recognized both inside and outside of the Region of Murcia.
Tornel noted that despite its cultural and artistic career, said Choir, composed of some 400 voices between three and 65 years on four sections that are small, children, young owner, does not have a stable seat Murcia to facilitate the performance of their business and enhance its dissemination.
According to the mayor, "is not lawful to go to the good name of the Choir and highlight its high musical level and its significance for cultural life without proposing a solution to this situation of disorientation, which makes the daily work and reduces the chances of this group" specializing in voice polyphony from the Renaissance to the present.
The Choir "Fernández Caballero" has received numerous awards including the first prize of choruses of Elche and Mieres;
Interpreting the award in Madrid;
the silver medal in Kerkrade (Netherlands);
the silver tormo Week Cuenca Religious Music and the silver medal at the Embassy of Cuba.
