Murcia again stresses between the most prominent cities in Europe in sustainable mobility.
On Monday March 23, in Brussels, European Commissioners for Environment and Transport decide whether the municipality is the winner of the European award for Mobility Week 2014, sponsored by the Directorate General Environment of the European Union, and in which involved over 2,000 European cities
Besides Murcia, among the finalists are the towns of Ostersund (Sweden) and Vienna (Austria).
With this award, the European Union wants to reward the activities of local authorities within the framework of the European Mobility Week and promote the exchange of experience and success in your organization.
The winners are chosen by a panel of independent experts on urban mobility.
The three finalists were selected from a list of ten cities by a panel of independent experts in transportation, have evaluated the creativity of European Mobility Week, public awareness of sustainable mobility issues and implementing measures to achieve change towards sustainable urban transport.
Murcia and was a finalist in the awards for European Mobility Week 2010 edition in which he won the Portuguese city of Almada.
Murcia held the European Mobility Week 2014, with more than twenty activities under the banner with the slogan 'Our streets, Our Choice', held from 16 to 22 September.
