The Department of Works and Community Services, led by José Arce, will launch in the coming weeks a maintenance and conservation of highways, roads and paths of municipal ownership.
Murcia City Council has under its ownership a total of 2,406 linear miles of arteries, avenues, streets, roads and lanes in the municipality.
Currently, there are 111 km of large capacity arteries, corresponding to level 1. As arteries and avenues (level 2) there are 112 km.
Level 3 (streets of villages) 822km and Level 4 (roads and rails) exist about 1,361 miles.
The objective of the launch of the new service, which will have a maximum bidding price of 630,000 euros for a period of eight months, is to provide a quick solution to the damage that may occur in those vials of the municipality.
According to the Minister of Works and Community Services, the purpose of this new service is to always have road infrastructure in perfect condition.
The service contractor shall make any necessary work to guarantee the safety and smooth flow of vehicles and pedestrians, plus they must show a perfect look different roads.
