The proliferation of artificial turf and the variety of football boots on the market can bring players to choose the wrong type of shoes and this may lead to injury.
Therefore, following the study of surfaces and different types of boots game, has developed a simple manual, supported by the Region of Murcia Football Federation to help the players to choose the type of footwear to be used depending on the lawn in which they are to play.
The recommendations are based mainly on flags that must carry all football boots and the surface on which it is played.
Therefore, in natural grass should only play with shoes that have the distinctive FG (Firm Ground) or SG (Soft Ground).
In artificial turf of first and second generation or hard fields or worn third generation, the boot to be used is HG (Hard Ground) or Turf.
Finally, artificial turf third generation in good condition the use of slippers AG (Artificial Grass) or MG (Multi Ground) is recommended.
The most important recommendation and in which most affect the experts is not playing on artificial turf boots with FG or SG as distinctive and characterized by a small number of blocks of considerable length.
The Region of Murcia Football Federation will forward this study to all clubs in the region to transmit it to their players, both senior categories as a basis to avoid, insofar as possible, injuries caused by a poor choice of footwear when playing football.
