The University of Murcia held today in the Hall of the Faculty of Arts, the conference "The VAT and Local Taxes in Universities", which has organized the Board of Managers and the Legal Department CRUE this educational institution.
The meeting will address major fiscal problems employing professionals involved in university management and shed light on some of the questions raised in the current context of vague and disparate tax rules, such as "Is deductible VAT interpretive criteria scientific journals? "," What university activities are subject to this tax? "
or "The university buildings are exempt from property tax?".
The first lecture, "The exemptions of universities in local taxes" is given by Pablo Chico, professor at the University Rey Juan Carlos, which follows that of Professor Jose Pedreira, University of Oviedo, on "The tax benefits of universities in the law of non-profit organizations ".
The afternoon session will be devoted to a roundtable to discuss the deductibility and the problematic aspects of value added tax.
The inauguration has been in charge of the rector of the University, José Orihuela, and the councilor of Economy and Finance of the City of Murcia, Isabel Martínez, in a ceremony attended, among other academic positions, the chairman of the Board of the educational institution, Javier Ruano, and the Dean of the Faculty of Law, David Lorenzo Morillas.
The event, part of the Rector Seminars Orihuela, is coordinated by Professor Mercedes Navarro Egea and lawyer Isabel Canovas Ortiz.
