The International Chair of the Professional Woman of the Catholic University of Murcia has organized on the occasion of the celebration on March 8, International Women's Day, a day of debate entitled 'Talent and leadership Murciana Woman'.

Women's field of business, politics and academia discussed in the Chapter Hall of the Monastery of Jeronimos on the current reality of the role of women in business and public life and the immediate challenges facing the day to day.

They have participated in this event, among others, María Dolores Bolarín, Member of Congress;

Patricia Fernandez, mayor of Archena;

Manuela Marín, president of the OMEP (Regional Organization of Women Entrepreneurs and Professionals Murcia);

Miriam Lopez, manager Sprout Sprout;

Isabel Sánchez, CFO Disfrimur;

and various teachers, researchers and students of the UCAM, which have also actively participated in the debate.

They intervened as host of the event, Mar Sánchez, director of the International Chair of the Professional Women and Maria Dolores Garcia, representing the University Foundation San Antonio.

María Dolores Bolarín, which also is assistant deputy spokesman for the Equality Commission, highlighted the initiatives that are taking place in Spain and Europe to achieve full equality between men and women but is clear that there is much to do " terms of wage discrimination and gender violence. There is much to achieve real equality between men and women. "

In the same vein, Patricia Fernández commented that "women have enough to assume positions of responsibility ability but lack measures to help labor conciliation".

Manuela Marín, from the perspective of an organization of women entrepreneurs, stressed that "for women entrepreneurship has long been an escape unemployment. In this time of crisis, women are the ones who are pulling the wagon autonomous and I'm sure there will come a day when we have so many entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs in the Region of Murcia ".
