The "Roadmaps for energy" project presented by the City of Murcia, in consortium with seven other European cities and two universities, has been selected to be funded by the European Union within the new framework program for innovation and research called Horizon 2020.
This selection is particularly important, since only about 10% of the projects submitted to the EU are positively valued for funding, in this case, we speak of 2 million euros to manage during the three year duration of the project.
The "R4E, Road maps for Energy" project with the participation of the European cities of Eindhoven (Netherlands), Istanbul (Turkey) Tallinn (Estonia), Newcastle (UK), Palermo and Forli (Italy), Sant Cugat UPC Barcelona and universities and the "Technische Universiteit" of Eindhoven.
The project aims to draw roadmaps with specific and well-defined actions that are the product of innovative energy policies.
The topics that will work the city of Murcia are intelligent buildings and sustainable mobility, for it must have the support and contribution of the social agents working on these policy areas.
We talked about companies or organizations related to energy efficiency, electric mobility or cycling, universities and organizations that have the capacity to innovate and contribute ideas on energy policy at local level.
The Local Energy Agency of Murcia and European Programmes Service, dependent on the departments of Environment, Enterprise and Trade respectively shall be responsible within the city of Murcia of the project which will kick off next March 4 in Eindhoven, where the project launch meeting will take place.
The project will act completion the "Final Conference" where the project results will be presented and to be held in Murcia in February 2018. The event will feature participation of relevant stakeholders on energy efficiency at national and European level.
The Councillor for Environment, Adela Martinez-Cache, expressed his satisfaction for being selected the project.
"This shows, says Martinez-Cache, which are at the head of the cities that innovate in energy efficiency and sustainable mobility at European level and do not do specific policy actions, but we adopted the strategy of continuity and work newspaper by and for improving the efficiency of City Hall and the quality of life of Murcia ".
