At the meeting the creation of a forum that involves collaboration between this sector and the UMU to analyze lines of research, student internships and other forms of cooperation was discussed
The Chairman of the Social Council, Javier Ruano, yesterday held a meeting with Miguel García Salom, Dean of Medicine, Pedro Rodríguez Lozano, Dean of Chemistry, Maria Falcon Romero, Deputy Dean of Pharmacy and several representatives of the chemical and pharmaceutical industry: Tahe Group, Marny, Grifols, Hefame, Prosur, BLENDHUB Corp., Pujante, Probelte Pharma, Hero, Natural Products Mediterranean, CDM and Marin Gimenez.
The meeting was also attended Francisca Tomás Alonso, Vice Chancellor Transfer and responsible for several research projects.
This meeting, explained Javier Ruano, "fits into the plan of actions of the Social Council for over 60 measures was recently approved by all the members of the body".
Besides the President of the Social Council recalled that "this sharing is intended to establish bridges between the university and the company, listen to this vital sector in our region, fostering collaboration in research and basically learn firsthand what are the needs for research projects that demand such an important "sector.
During the meeting which involved researchers, entrepreneurs and university administrators were also analyzed in detail the difficulties encountered by companies when hiring transfer projects to research teams from the UMU.
Ruano noted that "companies consider it essential that collaboration with universities is carried out under confidentiality criteria, deadlines, cost and quality".
The Chairman of the Social Council noted that "all companies present at the forum who collaborated with researchers from the UMU were satisfied and stressed the quality of work performed by highly qualified research groups and could be useful for other companies ".
All participants agreed on the need to establish mechanisms to inform researchers who are the subjects of interest to the chemical and pharmaceutical industry and the need to establish a more direct and fluid communication.
Finally, Javier Ruano explained that "during the meeting related to the transfer of knowledge issues were discussed, communication, work experience and employability of graduates and encouraged participants to enhance these meetings inure to the benefit of both companies and the University ".
