Workers cleaning the mall Watchtowers of Murcia have called a halt over the next weekend to demand it will answer the remuneration received by compulsory work on Sundays and holidays.
The strike will begin on Saturday 21 February and is scheduled to continue until settlement.
The chief of staff of this template cleaners, Salvador Hernandez and union members ATL / ATRM (Workers Association Murcia) reported that the cleaning contractor mall Watchtowers, Maintenance Support Services SA (SAMSA ), have been placed in a highly unfair and clearly worse than other workers hired by other companies for cleaning hypermarket and shopping mall income status.
Union sources indicate that the salaries of cleaners are not very high and this reduction made by the company severely affects them.
Also show that recognize a specific fee for each Sunday and public holiday worked was usual in all contract cleaning the mall.
Therefore, do not understand that, unilaterally, this salary plus being denied for months.
From ATL / ATRM ensures that since October has urged the company to seek a consensual solution through meetings and telephone conversations, finding a negative response.
In fact, according to the union, in mediation held on Wednesday the company only offered on Sundays and no pay increase 6.40 euros compensation for holidays.
The representatives of workers qualify this attitude as a "joke" and not rule out that, after the strike spread to seven days a week.
Finally, the staff representative noted that, despite having the most cleaners with seniority at the mall ranging from one to two decades, had never raised the need to resort to such drastic measures like this.
However, since the arrival of Auxiliary Services Maintenance SA last August this is the second time we have been forced to call a strike.
Also, from ATL / ATRM, is accused the company of "end decades of social peace in all areas of cleaning the mall."
