The rehabilitation of 14 buildings with 379 homes, streets and squares in the neighborhood of Los Rosales (El Palmar) improve the living conditions of its neighbors.
The City Council has gone a step further with the approval of the draft work of regeneration, rehabilitation and urban renewal district of Los Rosales, with an investment of over 2.7 million.
The area under revitalization is the third phase of construction of this neighborhood dating from 1974, bounded on the north by Rosales Avenue, Laurel Square, Santa Rosa de Lima church and square of the Wallflowers, east of Avenida Primero de Mayo to the west with Apricot Street and Poplar Avenue and south by the school Santa Rosa de Lima.
Olivar squares, cherry and pear trees and roads included in this area, especially the Paseo de los Cactus also add.
The district has a population of about 6,000 people, was promoted to the late 60s and early 70 terraced houses combining one- and two-storey dwelling blocks up to four storeys.
The plan covers the renewal of the sanitation of buildings, such as replacing the covers, matching facades and common spaces between blocks, repairs of stairs and driveways of homes and layout of the squares and recreation areas.
The works will start in spring, since the project, once approved, must be put out to tender.
The aim is to finalize the action in December 2015.
The technical management of the works will be carried out the Municipal Urbanizadora, Urbamusa, who already has experience in regenerating neighborhoods Los Almendros (La Alberca), Santa Maria de Gracia and Vistabella.
This project is the result of an agreement signed in December 2014 between the Ministry of Development, Autonomous Community and City of Murcia, financing 35% Development, 9% the Autonomous Community and 56% of the city of Murcia.
Lasting until December 31, 2016, as provided in the State Plan building rental housing, edificatoria rehabilitation and regeneration and urban renewal 2013/2016.
This is not just an urban project because it includes measures of social, economic and environmental efforts to promote improved quality of life for its residents with activities that promote the integration level, community involvement and job creation by hiring of people unemployed and a program of training courses and workshops.
A 379 homes in Los Rosales must add 68 blocks 13 and 14, whose rehabilitation began in 2013 with an investment of 381,000 euros funded by the city of Murcia.
