IU-Green has reported today that the city of Murcia sacrificed animals entering the pound with leishmaniasis disease rather than treating them with the appropriate medication, which is, in his view, "an act of cruelty" .
The training has indicated that "the last show of insensitivity" of the consistory to animals occurred yesterday with the sacrifice of a bitch who had the disease and was found in the street with a painted red in your body.
John David Babyack, member of the municipal presidency of IU-Green, recalled that although leishmaniasis is an incurable disease, the animal can survive it with a treatment that involves the intake of two tablets a day.
In addition, Babyack has insisted that the "murder" that bitch "was unnecessary," especially when many families offered to adopt her.
Murcia IU-Green has advanced to ask the government team about the protocol and procedures followed by the Department of Health in the case of animals entering the pound with the disease, as well as the efforts of the consistory to promote animal adoption.
He has also asked the City Council to devote more efforts to spraying mosquito that transmits leishmaniasis, instead of sacrificing "directly and unceremoniously" animals who suffer.
Babyack reported also that the area animalistic IU-Greens in the Region of Murcia has convened its first meeting on Saturday 21 February, with the aim of defending the rights of animals.
