The Mayor, Miguel Angel House, this morning attended the presentation of the Award for Best Meatloaf 2014, an award that is awarded the Master Joaquín Roses, Roses from the pastry shop located in Piazza del Carmen neighborhood Camachos.
Those in attendance were able to see the benefits of winning cake with a tasting of this gastronomic jewel Murcia, accompanied by beer Estrella Levante, official sponsor of the festival.
This first quality competition last Meatloaf Day is celebrated every year convenes this week Bando de la Huerta in the Plaza de Belluga and is organized by the Guild of Bakers and the Association of Friends of Meatloaf in collaboration with the city of Murcia.
In the last edition more than 10,000 people gathered to sample as many cakes and beer.
The competition comprises 16 cafés and bakeries were presented Murcia.

Thomas Zamora, Honorary President of the Academy of Gastronomy;
Salvador Zamora, professor of Nutrition;
Antonio Botías, official chronicler of Murcia and president of the Association of Friends of Meatloaf;
Rodrigo A. Borrega, President of the Academy of Gastronomy;
M. Dolores Baro, Director of TV show "Cooking with Baró";
José Adrián López, President of the Guild of Confectioners of Alicante;
and Alberto Requena, Professor of Physical Chemistry at the University of Murcia.
