The City of Murcia, presents this winter, for the first time in Río_Caballerizas Space Molinos, a series of photographs by Andy Sotiriou.
The exhibition opens to the public this evening at 20 hours.
The programming of this municipal area has a rich history of photography exhibitions, covering different looks and photographers from different places, trying to show the multiplicity of photography today.
Andy Sotiriou, a photographer of great experience and sensitivity of Greek-Cypriot origin has more than twenty years in Murcia.
With the exhibition "After the Storm" takes us to landscapes where snow becomes a problem.
Sotirou has worked on this series from fall 2013 to winter 2014 with its archive materials and new landscapes of Spain and England.
They are images in black and white, in a square format and with a delicate study of light, of great beauty, which dominates the white.
Andy Sotiriou is moved to Murcia in the early years of this decade 90. Getty Images, file world's largest photographs, purchased and added to his file collection Tony Stone.
From then until very recently, has dedicated to the photo files, the Getty and others.
"All the works in this collection are composite images.
The final product is an assembly of elements of different pictures.
Each image, real origin, virtual and imaginary, created to fit the idea that led to this series: building dynamic spaces in the field of imagination using static elements found in nature, "says the artist in the catalog collects this exhibition.
