Los Martínez del Puerto receives on Friday 30 January the Holy Virgin Mary of the Arrixaca and in his honor various religious celebrations which will last until Sunday February 1 will be held.

La Virgen de la Arrixaca Marian devotion is a native of Murcia, revered in the capital since the thirteenth century as the patron of the ancient Kingdom of Murcia.

The image of the Virgin is a polychrome wood carving late Romanesque, dating from the twelfth century.

The program of activities is as follows:

January 30:

-17 Hours: Arrival of Santa María de la Arrixaca to Los Martínez del Puerto.

Official welcome by authorities and neighbors.

Procession to the Church of Nuestra Señora de las Maravillas.

Welcome to the headman Mayor of Los Martínez del Puerto, Castillejo Mariana Martinez, the Brother of the Royal and Ancient Brotherhood of Devotees of Saint Mary of the Arrixaca and official chronicler of the Region of Murcia, José Antonio Guerrero Melgares and Pastor of the Parish Church of Nuestra Señora de las Maravillas de Los Martínez del Puerto, Antonio Martínez Sánchez.

Then, Religious Celebration, sung by the Parish Choir of Los Martínez del Puerto.

At the end, kiss Medal of the Virgin and signature in the Book of Acts.

Saturday January 31:

-A 10 am Morning Prayer Prayer.

During the morning, the children of catechetical work designed to honor the image of the Virgin of Arrixaca, and present those made in the CEIP Nuestra Señora de las Maravillas de Los Martínez del Puerto.

-A 13 hours, Anointing of the Sick, before the image of the Virgen de la Arrixaca.

-A 17 hours, Exposition of the Blessed and pray the Rosary.

-At 18:30, Religious Celebration, accompanied by the Diocesan Choir.

After the Mass, Prayer concert, played by Paco Fernández del Amor.

Sunday February 1:

-At 12:30 pm Solemn Mass at the Virgin of Arrixaca, sung by the Parish Choir of Los Martínez del Puerto, with wreath of people who so wish.

Despedida de Santa María de la Arrixaca.
