Councilman IU-Greens in the city of Murcia, José Ignacio Tornel, today accused in a statement the government team of PP, "lying shamelessly" the public about the water service rates this year .
Tornel has indicated that in the last Board of Emuasa the manager of this company said that rates could increase in 2015 for having to make use of desalinated water, since there would be no input from the Tajo-Segura.
This fact motivated IU-Green filed a motion in Parliament last November in order that water rates should not go up, what the PP said he had consulted with Emuasa and there would be no change in rates.
"The PP said it would not rise, but time has shown that once again lied" added Tornel, for whom the increase is "unacceptable".
In his view, this situation shows that the councilors of the government team "act in Emuasa Council as members of the private party, and not as representatives of citizens".
The mayor lamented that the PP has not exercised his majority on the Board of Directors "to protect a company that receives five million euros net profit a year" while "thousands of residents are deprived of a common good."
